Downhiller Gone Touring

Steve Mitchell normally drives all over B.C. to see Bike dealers. He's a sales rep and his territory is our entire fine province. This year he's doing his summerr sales trip under his own power.

Here's his first trip diary.

Downhiller Gone Touring.

Mitchell's a machine...

We passed him on our way to Psychosis thursday afternoon. For someone who's done some serious epic missions, this one has to be right up there.

Look forward to buying him a beer at crankworx.. maybe this was his secret plan, drink all week for free as word spreads of his trek..?

What prescription is he on? Amazing and impressive- enduring. Does he get wireless on that thing? How do you take orders?- he must have the new iPhone to handle his sales.

Mitchell must have wee little tiny samples stowed away in those bags of his with a couple of Barbies to model them.

Very cool. I can't wait to do some touring again one of these days. Canada would be an amazing place to ride across.

Props to him, that is one of the coolest things I've heard of in weeks.

touring props

i have a lot of respect for wackos that go touring. for me, self-supported touring is about as appealing as riding a recumbent in the annual seattle to portland event. that is, not at all.
i am especially proud that "one of us" - a fat tire junkie - is doing it.

nice tour!

A friend of ours did a similar one a few years ago. He had a bob trailer to carry his stuff.

The Duffy, either way - up or down, is a tough one! Great views though!

We wanted to try to ride from Vancouver to Lillooet in a day or two at the most but it never happened... thank god.
