DXH 5.0 making "slurping" sound
My DHX 5.0 is making a "slurping" sound on the rebound stoke.
NO oil leaking, 110 pounds of boost. Shock seems fine...Is it blown? I've only ridding the shock a couple of time and I purchased it used. Any thought? |

its normal to be able to hear the oil moving about in the shock ...
if the shock is doing its job i wouldnt worry about any oil noises.. now if the shock wasnt working throu part of its stroke/ damping then that would be a different matter. |

just the oil moving in the rebound cct. back your rebound dial all the way "-" the sound usually lessens. It's fine.

No it's sucking hard.
Mine makes the noise here and there but functionally it works so I can't complain.

Low to no pressure causes cavitation in the oil. And if you ride with too low pressure,
the main seal will let in air on compression stroke. Also the ifp seal could have failed, but then the shock would basically be a pogostick. These are the main reasons for having air in a shock. A properly bled and pressurized shock wont make any noise other than maybe a gentle hiss on the rebound. Possibly time for a rebuild. |
