What I ve done with my busted bike, partII

Hi,
I wrote in this forum two weeks ago after I tear apart my rm6. This time I have manage to take some pics of the broken frame. I also add an old pic of the complete bike in his old hours of glory. He did looked good, no?
Anyhow, I want to thanks all of you for your advices with what I should do with my parts and so on. I finally end up buying a brand new Atomik frame. It was a good deal. Then I realized that I would not be able to to fit my rear wheel, the length of hub differs... 150mm for the norco vs 135mm for the RM: I bougth a new mavic 325. When I unmounted the fork I found a second crack in the arch of my 2002 superT. I went to the marzochi center in the north shore. The guy convince me that it was not worth it to repair it and give me a good deal on a 888rc. I installed a new headset and bottom bracket on the frame. By the way I m very grateful to Steve at Atomic bike shop (1555 West 6th one block off granville st). I have been able to spend one day with him building my bike in his shop. He gave me a lot of advice, open the box of cheap parts (I love the .243 super wide handle bars, the new maxxis tires...). More than this Steve is a very nice guy...
In conclusion, I have more or less a spanking new bike. I have try it quickly on Ned in seymour and he was a very sweet ride. The 888rc is just amazing. The only thing I m concerned is the weigth. I knew I was not building a super ligth bike. But on my shitty bathroom scale, the puppy is closer to 50 than 40 pounds for sure! I would say 47. Going downhill, the bike do not feel that heavy, even lighter than my rm6 somewhat. But going up, men, you really feel it. I m a tall slim guy, and the bike is almost a third of my weight! Furthermore, I add a chain retainer so I only have the big ring. No more grannies gear. I think I build a wicked Whistler ride, period. I guess I will spend less time on fromme and squamish and more on Cypress, Seymour and Whistler . Or since I have spend much more cash than I expected(should), I would nothing against selling/trading it for something lighter.
Anyway, it was real fun to build my own bike and he looks and rides wickedly!!!!!
Enjoy the pics

Nice bike!
I think if you got a smaller seat you'd lose alot of weight..probably a full pound!

I am shocked that the rm6 lasted that long. pretty nice catastrophic failure though.
I'm sure the new bike will last just as long or longer.
