Supplement Prices

Since I know there are a few members on here that use Whey protien powder I figure I should pass on some info I heard today.

There is no word on why this is happening but the price of Whey protien is going up. It's apparently going up as much as 100%.

I have heard that that it may go up as much as $10 per container. Maybe more.

it's going up 15% some products have already started to raise the prices. the retail stores just need to catch up. over the next 4 years it's going to go up more though so possibly could be as much as 100% over the next 4 years. right now the average cost is $1 per serving which is pretty cheap when you think about how much meat you have to eat to equal the amount per serving.

Popeyes is the best! the service there is out of this world. Last time i bought just the small cheapo bucket of protein for $30 they gave me a free T-shirt, mixing cup, another cup, water bottle, and magazine! Lets compare this with the service at GNC.. "hey, you should buy a gold card too. Its only 10 bucks"

Whey Protein Concentrate which is the base material in all this shit fluctuates on a regular basis.

actual cost of the crap is about 2 bucks a lb thats up from a 1.35 fact is your paying mostly for the bullshit marketing, packaging, distribution and retail mark up.

so the base price of the commodity is up quite a bit but it shouldn't affect the price you pay on the shelf because that only accounts for 10% of the costs.
