IMHO this thread needs is a little perspective.

While dropping a G note on shoes seems ridiculous to many of us, for most of the world spending $100 or even $50 on foot coverings is beyond extravagant. Imagine the thought of dropping $1000 on bicycle wheels to someone who could feed his or her family for a decade on that.

While I agree that the push toward extravagance - particularly as exemplified by much of the hip hop crowd - is disgusting, we need to realize that virtually everything we do is extravagant when put into a global perspective.

We're all suckers, we're all bloated overfed fat cats - and the fact that there are many who are much worse than us doesn't make us any less culpable. It may make us feel better to point at the LV set scornfully but we're all at the same party. Some of us just didn't make it into the VIP lounge.

my guess is nelson was on his way to future shop, felt a little jealous when he saw the people lined up at LV and decided to post

cam is right, if you wear nike, heck even hanes her way (like apeshape does) you are spending FAR too much dough on clothes when compared to your NEEDS. so it all comes down to WANTS

Anyone who has travelled to a third world country like Greece or say Nepal would realize that the clothes we wear probably represents the lifetime income for a lot of people
