Canadian Health Care
= JOKE

dont' get me wrong, public healthcare is wonderful for most of us, but i am far away from being satisfied with our healthcare system. Waiting HOURS AFTER HOURS for a bandage(b/c i had to clamp my cut for hours it was too late)
but granny's waiting 16months for hip replacement?
my friend's mom waiting a year for gull bladder surgery(remaining sick for that period of time)


The opposition seem to have this narrow mind that if we[canada] were to change it, IT MUST BE LIKE THE US. 100% private healthcare.
This sickens me b/c health/education occupies a huge chunk of tax-payers money, and frankly the gov't are very inefficient.

Why can't they purpose something in the middle. private/public.

Our gov't sucks

Funny you should mention that. There was an article I read yesterday that mentioned similar things. I'll try to look it up for tomorrow.

Found the article. Now one thing to remember when you read it is that it's about some other former government services. But some of the ideas could be transfered to aspects of the Health Care system.

The reason is simple. Diabetes isn't a "sexy" enough issue compared to druggies, plus it doesn't have several whiners to keep getting attention.

How does it work in ?

In you pay a certain amount of your monthly income (depends on whether you are working for the state, i.e. teachers or other jobs; are a freelance or a plain blue collar worker) and you can be sure that everything is taken care of. A lot of people moan about it as well, some understandable, but you do not have to wait for ages.

Best is if you have private insurance - heaven on earth.
