very deep in the alpine, especially lee slopes....all goodness....

Who's up on Thursday? I'm planning to ride Blackcomb and will be up there by 8:30. Riding solo now so would like a partner with all this snow. I have avy gear.

bunch of us will most likely be there, 99% we will be on whistler though, a few of us will be with avy and tour gear

wasn't too bad on the lower mountain today, Seppos, Tokum and Bear Paw weren't too bad, found some nice windloaded spots and untracked all over, the trees are getting better too....

I decided to come into work early today, get shit done, so as to be less guilt-free tomorrow.....the power went out 5 minutes after I got here......lesson learned, screw work, go skiing....

First tracks down pakalolo this morning, it was amazing...

... until 5 other guys followed me down.


A dud was dropped into 7th today, so it took a while to open, and the mountain is pretty sketch to open spanky's/glacier because of avalanche risk.

Spanky's opened today, and Blackcomb Glacier was closed...

Better get up here before Christmas rush starts.

You`ll have two less powder hounds to fight for fresh tracks till New Years. Stinky_rider and I are in Montreal for a few days then Ontario. Atleast we`ll get to ski Jay Peak tomorrow.

It's been snowing a lot. On December 19th, patrol managed to get GE open despite high-winds. Hats off to patrol for an outstanding job. We took advantage

Kind of poor light and crummy conditions for shots so apologies for the quality. Was blowing pretty hard and snowing tons.

Side trip to Pakalolo for variety - Dave from Tahoe drops in.



Winds SE 60 - 80kmh with 15- 20cms during day and a bit more expected overnight - and Whistler never opened alpine that day.

Whistler opened its alpine today but not without some waiting. Lots of AC going on and bombs exploding. Could see why patrol was concerned as small slides ran off skicuts on Boomer while we were waiting for the chairs to open. After a long cold wait, we were off to the races and did lap after lap in Harmony.

It was a bit ridiculous. There was untracked snow every run. I think a lot of people must have headed to Peak as Harmony wasn't bad at all.
