Get a metal one. They last longer and are harder to break.

^^Terrible advice..
The supercharger from e13 is bombproof lexan. If you are looking for just a bashring, I would suggest that route. If you are looking for a full guide system, I have found the envy doubleE to be priceless. The e13 srs/drs systems are badass as well. Other than those two, I am not much help. For years that is all we have run on our bikes and thus far we have had no problems at all

I just bought the 36T E13 bashguard a week ago (dropnzone.com) to replace a broken Truvativ. Nice!

seand - why is endurnail's advice "terrible?"
Some folks prefer metal over plastic. Sure the e-13 is strong but it's heavy b/c it's so thick. And a few poeple think the e.13 bash guards are fugly. Rechnically, is the doubleE solution a true guide? The chain can still bounce around and make noise. |

It is terrible advice because he says to get metal due to them lasting longer and being harder to break. Is there any proof to make either blanket statement true? Nopers. If folks think they are fugly, that is fine, but that neither proves nor disproves strength/longevity..only preference. Is the double E a true guide? Does calling it a chain device make you happier? If you are going by bouncing and noise, then NO guides are true guides. Last I checked, every single guide produces some noise. The SRS/DRS guides produces noise when the chain moves through the roller/boomerang, and the chain still slaps around by the stays....so are those not guides then?

^Sorry - I just thought it was a bit strong for you to suggest his advice was "terrible" as lots of pople use metal bash guards and they work fine.
And since this isn't really a discussion about chain guides, I won't talk about that anymore.

On my trail bike, the metal guard is PERFECT. Its light, it doesnt get used a whole lot. On my street ride, im using metal, and im waiting to gather the cash to get an e-13 cuz metal sucks for grinding. It works, but it sucks.
