slow tech trails, become fast and flowy when you get better...

pretty sad about what they did to schleyer, that section is a shadow of its former self, straight through, no brakes, massive line, booo

how does it compare to when the trail was first opened?

Generally when trails are new, they are pretty fast and flowy, then people ride them, water goes down them, they become eroded chunder. Then someone comes in and fixes it back to its original form.

Is this a bad thing?

No it's not, but on Schleyer and Rock City they removed natural terrain that was never a problem even when it rained for weeks straight.

argh i should never left... it's not forgiveable to touch schleyer and rock city to make it easier... smoother yeah but not easier, there is always a way to make it better harder and safer, without building an highway...

Thumbs up Smooth or more skill? That is the question!

I agree here! I took a trip back to Ontario... rode some of the trails that were challenging just early last year. IE Blue Mountain... cough cough... Hill sorry. Whistler forces you to progress very fast.

After a ride on the Shore... which in some parts I consider very smooth... tell me that Whistler is not smooth!

NO!

I-beam seats are fucked. I spent the first 4 weeks of summer recovering from 15 stitches as a result of an I-beam DH seat that snapped in two when my rear tire buzzed it. I-beam seats are structually unsound. The beam is corrugated plastic and there is no arch to give structual support. It is a horrible design.

Warning: graphic pics.
