why do people use apostrophes for plural's
sorry about the nag, it used to be one or two people, but it's spreading. I can't bear it.

"The apostrophe has three uses:

1) to form possessives of nouns
2) to show the omission of letters
3) to indicate certain plurals of lowercase letters.

Apostrophes are NOT used for possessive pronouns or for noun plurals, including acronyms."

not wound up...it just surprises me that people think putting an apostrophe in is better than not doing so - it's like you get points for trying. you don't - it's just misleading

While you're at it, there/they're/their, break/brake, trail/trial, to/too, not to mention the horrific examples of spelling the word "hydraulic" must just drive you wacko.

Of all the atrocities in spelling, grammar and punctuation on a mtb bulletin board, apostrophy use is pretty minor.

Ease back on the caffeine, double up on the cough medicine.
