v p free spring #'s

Gettin a vp free, i wiegh about 190 with out gear, intermediate/hack kinda rider. What spring wieght for the DHX 5 fox rear shock. No idea how to guess with the vpp and shock( which i hear is amazing)Shop will change for free if i decide before i leave the shop.

check the santacruz website under VPFree - tech info - set up guide. all shocks and set up information is located here. According to the site, you need a 400 or 450 spring.

That website is wonky. I am 190 and run a 550 lb spring on my VP-free. I( would not want to go anything less. Check out:

I'm about 170 and have a 400 spring its alright for fast flowy stuff, but for anything big its too soft, so i'v ordered a 450 and am going to try that out.

i just got a 450 put on mine, i weight aorund 150 and rode a 400 before..it was just to soft
