new car:D
Gonna go pick it up on Sunday...1989 Jetta GL, lowered 2.5" candy floss orange metal flake, stock 5 spoke wheels powder coated white, louvered fenders, cold air intake, real wood Grant GT wheel, short throw shifter, shaved rear doors (no poppers though), got after market voltmeter, and oil temp, needs floor pans done (buddy happens to have a GLI sitting out back the shop that I can get the pans out of), needs driver's rocker panel welded into place, rear female seat belt buckles, and an exhaust.
$500 cause his wife said he had to get rid of toys, I went to look at the SAS'd tracker on 33's, but it was already sold and out of the driveway, so I bought his car instead.
poppers I can get for $100 off a buddy, exhaust I'm stealin off the GLI, as with the seat belt buckles, then it's time to drive too fast.
According to buddy who went and looked at it with me (he knows VW, and since it's not a sami, I figured I ought to bring someone who knows what he's dealin with with me), it has the 1.8 carrat (sp?) engine.
vee dub guys....what should I do next, fast is more important than looks.
This car will never have a wing.

If you're gonna go fast then the 1st thing to do is tires and brakes - if you can't stop then you'll just be another roadside memorial. Doesn't matter how good a driver (you think) you are, if you can't stop then you're just along for the ride.

Other than that - drive it for a month or two 1st and see if anything falls apart. No point pouring all your money into it right away then not having any cash for neccessary repairs.
