Safe path from Bottom of bby mtn to rocky point?

I'm wondering if there is a safe path , idealy an easy trail, to take kids on from the bottom of Burnaby mountain, near Glenayre school, that will take us into Port Moody? I'm specifically looking into getting to rocky poitn park, but I believe a trail that ends near Moody high school is the only realistic option? Anyone know if its possible?
Thanks, Jason

i don't know of one, but try spending an afternoon hiking around and you might be able to find something. i'm sure there's probably a series of paths through there somewhere.

no real trails from glenarye to Moody secondary. there is a trail from banting to moody secondarys, but it is quite steep has lots of stairs and some bridges.

Take the path from Garrow Dr. through to North Rd. Go right, to the end and cut up to the powerlines. Head south, up the powerlines (or Dead Moped), past the bottom of Joe's trail, and keep going. It heads downhill and conects up to the trans-canada trail. Pedestrial x-ing across the hwy, down to barnet marine park, and follow the TCT east to RPP. I think that works.

It's a bit of a distance but it's all easy going, away from traffic.
You wouldn't want to try to ride back as well, with a class of kids.

Yup. North.

I just realized that the TCT might peter out at clarke rd. so you just follow the sidewalk along to the overpass at moody st., by the west coast train station.

Quick note on the TCT trail down to the Barnet HWY. Even though its a gravel path its very very steep and quite a long decent. If a kid gets out of control on there they'll be toast. Seriously.
My experience with the youngens is they don't always have the best brake set ups on their bikes.
