week 5 entries

i just browsed through the week 5 photos and i'd say the best in there was a black and white shot from kamloops on page 4 by of a guy wippen it out a bit Sp00ks, so many of them just are either exposed badly, framed badly or have small blemishes or angle issues. i'm not one to talk however because i do not have any entries because i use strictly slr non digital and prefer the b/w for detail and shadows. anyways just my opinion...now feel free to rip my opinon apart.

All of the shots I have submited have been shot on film with a SLR. Next time you get a roll developed ask for a photo CD. I get my photo's developed at the superstore if that helps.

My opinion: Please no more black and white. Some of them are nice (like the one above) but I think even last weeks top 5 black and wite shots were sort of boring. Come on, is our sport colourless?

Please explain to me what´s wrong with saying what I think? I never said that those shots from last week are bad, no, they´re definitely not, and I give huge credit to everyone who is able to take a picture like last week´s top five. Does that mean that everybody has to like them? Hell no! Maybe you don´t understand the meaning of the words "my opinion", which is really sad. My opinion doesn´t mean that it ultimately has to be like that, I just posted what I think and what I think is that most of the black/white pictures are, in my opinion (!!!), boring. Does that mean they´re bad pictures? No! Does that mean that everybody has to like them? No. So please tell me what´s wrong with my statement, I´m really interested to hear what you have to say.

Nothing is wrong with your opinion. no need to get into a fit. I think that a lot of them started out colour but then were flipped to B&W in photoshop, not giving that true B&W look. more that sterile digi look. not that there's anything wrong with that.

I think black and white is good for "moody" shot in the woods...soulfull if your
will. I don't think there's much soulfullness in a huck so you tend to loose the
energy of the shot and it comes off like you're trying too hard.

That being said, trying to get composition, content, color, and every other
detail that makes a good shot is beyond my skills. So props to all the peeps
that put their images out there and subjected themselves to all of our
ameteur opinions. Maybe it's not that b&w is bad, but when seen too much
it just seems redundant? [question not really a statement]

Okay so my last post was just being silly, but in all honesty, the number of colour photographs I see that I really like, is almost nonexistant compared to the number of b/w photographs I see that I really like.

I guess that's just me though. Colour is too realistic. If I want to see something that real, I'd rather have video of it.
