Spring Compatability
Calling all spring experts:
Can you interchange Progresive (5th Element) and Manitou Swinger springs? If so, would it be possible to use a 8.75 x 2.75 (Swinger TI) in place of 8.5 x 2.5 (Progressive Steel) spring. Thanks! |

as long as it still threds in, and because it is ment for a longer shock it will be even less chance of binding the coil

I would say yes go ahead. Most Ti coils will not allow coil bind with this difference in stroke.

A black coil on a 5th would look cool too.

5th element springs are a touch smaller on the inner diameter..
it will rub the shock body on a Manitou shock deep in the travel... but the spring will indeed fit otherwise.. while it leaves a mark on the shock body it wont ever really cause any serious damage.. unless u dotn want any paint removed from your shock body. |
