I am not sure if this has been discussed before, but I finally got around to watching this mini series.

It was amazing. I really recommend who ever has not checked it out to do so. Shows the realities and harshness of war with out just becoming a how much gore can we show flick.

The scene and the concentration camp was heart wrenching and even I found it difficult to watch.

Yes very good show indeed, I watched the battle of the buldge episode and i was hooked. truly amazing and its not just people blowing up it actualy has charachter develpoment and so on.

I liked how they portrayed the Germans. With the german general at the end giving the speech to his men. They didn't just say that all the germans where evil men, they where men as well doing a duty for their country.

Great series. Even watching a second time though, I still get confused with all the characters. So many people, all wearing the same clothes makes me forget who did what.

Yeah I had to do a little IMDB research to put faces on names at some point.

The book is freaking good also. I highly suggest you read it if you liked the series.

I loved it.. except I missed a couple episodes.. My buddy has the disc set so I should get down to borrowing that!

Hmmm...I may attempt it again. I rented the first disc or two of the 1st season like a yr ago or so...meh.

I told you the concentration camp episode would get you Ian. Me and my buddy made it a weekend thing, every weekend we'd rent another band of brothers VHS (they didn't have DVD) and watch it, made for good weekends.

There are a couple of books that are good to read that tell more than the miniseries did. Band of Brothers book of course, then there is also a book called The Biggest Brother about Winter's. I have seen both at Chapters in the History section on the shelves about WWII.

Sadly the book doesn't say much about the Battle of Foy and Speir's taking command in mid battle. Then his run across town and over a wall to give orders to another section. And his return moments later following the same path, all while under fire. The series shows more.

Interesting side note, In the Call of Duty game and the expansion pack you get to be a soldier in the same unit.
