White Brothers DH 2.0 fork

Hey guys, I am wondering if any of you have ridden a White Bros DH 2.0 fork extensivly? as I am looking at one to put on a bike that I am build up. I like the fact that it is inverted, because my old fork(2002 Shiver dc) is inverted and I love it to death, plus its looks so badass. my shiv is getting to the end of its riding career and soon to begin it wall decoration career I am open to other suggestions for a fork, my only requirements are that it have a 1 1/8" steer tube, 8" of travel, adjustable, strong, prefferably a duel crown fork, and 20mm axle. weight is not an issue. it will be going on a Banshee Scream, and used for big hit FR, and some DH, no Djs, so please don't suggest a DJ fork.

If you have found one you are very lucky i know they are still in production however are expensive (more so) than shivers and are far more adjustable. From what i have heard they are very good forks minus the fact of they are difficult to get and apparently need a fair bit of maintinence. Out of interest i know you (if you live in canada) didnt get many 2005 shivers apart from in england we have loads left practically all the major retailers do.

I had the older purple one from 2001. It was a wicked fork, very tuneable and easy to maintain. They had some issues with the air piston seizing up unexpectidly, but I think that was only for a limited run of forks. If they figured that out (which I'm sure they have), it would be on my short list.

Rat on the board here loves his White Bros 2.0. He beats the shit outta them and they keep coming back for more. He gets them rebuilt maybe once per season. It seems odd that your Shivers are dead - everything inside ofd them is easily replaced.

I'm just curious, but what do you think can go wrong with your Shiver that puts it up on the wall? I just sold an 01 that was still going strong. The cartridges seem to last forever and bushings and seals can be replaced. It's always nice to have something new and shiny too though!

well its not that it is dead, yet. this is all for a bike that I am going to be building over next summer, i just want to plan it all now, So far I have decided on a Banshee Scream frame with 5th Element(same as I am riding right now), probobly a White Bros DH 2.0 fork, full Sram X.0, with Sram attack shifters, race face diabolous cranks, Evil chain guide, Diablous stem/bars, ODI grips, Hope M4 brakes, Mavic DeeMax rims, not sure what hub yet, Chris King if i can afford it, haven't decided what tires yet, and not sure what else for it, maybe a new set of dice.

With that dream list it seems odd that you're worrying about affording the hubs only. Cut back a little on the all the bling and the hubs will be an after thought. (the deemax's in particular, the rims aren't that super compared to other rims at better prices)

are you sure it wasn't just a yellow 823 mike? Sorry thread jack. I have heard both good and bad things about the white bros fork, but have no time on it.

this aussie I knew had one on his intense. He absolutely loved it. I eventually switched to a super t because he no longer wanted an inverted, but he loved it. I only played around with it, but it seemed nice enough.

If it's "full Sram X.0", why aren't you running X.0 shifters? You do know that Attack shifters are 2:1 ratio, not 1:1 don't you?

I run the older 7 inch DH2 . Ive had it for 5 years and done the seals twice. Personaly I love it has a great ramped up damping feel similar to the Dorado. Id buy anouther one to replace this one if it crapped out.

they have both 1:1and 2:1atio attack shifters, i was talkin to the guys at Calgary Cycle about it(as i had attack shifters on my current banshee) and they said that I would have to buy a new shifter witht he 1:1 ratio, they have the same type of shifter, just 1:1 as opposed to 2:1
