Salmonella.

I cooked chicken for the first time ever today, and it tasted friggen awesome. Now 5 hours later I felt like vomitting when walking home and now my stomach is making funny noises and feeling funny. And now I have a slight headache.

Pray for me.

Doesn't food poisoning takes 24 hours to kick in?

ps. I didn't think they had chickens in your country

there's more to cooking it properly to keep from getting food poisoning.
what did you eat with the chicken? and did you cut it on the cuttingboard after you cut up the chicken? cross-contamination is the #1 cause of food poisoning, not the actual chicken.

You have to cook the crap out of chicken, too... internal temperature of the meat should be 175*F or more I believe.

chicken is the new hamburger as far as diseases are concerned

yes....it is the chicken, but eating the cooked piece of chicken doesn't usually make you sick...it's the stuff you cut up on the board after the chicken, usually veggies ect., that'll get ya. and no, you don't have to cook the crap outta chicken, it can still be moist and juicy.....and i'd pefer a does of samonella over e-coli anyday

Food poisoning doesn't take 24 hours - it's dependent on the individual's metabolism as well as the food and type of poisoning etc.

Just lie down and make sure you have a clear path to the bathroom - and try to drink lots so you don't get too dehydrated if you do start losing everything.

Damn, food poisoning sucks...especially with chicken...or pork. I got food poisoning from a Montanas steak house before...I think I ate chiken too. It took me nearly 3 days to recover because it totally drained me. The first night was the worst cause my body wouldnt let me vomit or use the washroom. It was like my stomach was holing it hostage. I didt sleep a wink that night. That morning itself I started hurling every 10 minutes and I felt great for about a few hours...but then I started feeling really tired. I slept for 14hours straight with the aid of a few shots of Nyquil. So on the third day I was doing better but still had a queezy feeling in my stomach because I hadnt eaten anything for nearly 60 some hours...

that's a wierd case of food poisoning......
i've had it bad once and instead of my stomach holding things hostage it was more like a pressure hose, letting loose out of every orrifice it could.....add in the sweats and chills, you've got yourself 36 hours of fun sleeping in the washroom cause you don't wanna be too far away
