for the love of riding

Its 9:41 pm, Friday night, In February, Theres snow on the ground, the temperature is below freezing..but I decide to go riding. Its been more than a month since i have ridden (i know thats not that long), and I am feeling the emptiness where riding once was. So i just head out with no plan in mind, no destination, no time limits, and I had one of the better rides of my life. In the summer when I am riding everyday, this would be nothing special, i didnt hit any new lines or bust any new trick, i just cruised around, hitting the odd stair set, working on manualling, just having fun on my bike. But Theres something special about riding in the dead of night, on deserted streets. It felt so good to be on my bike again; the world just seemed to slow down and i realized the only sound was of my freewheel spinning and my tires humming, and i loved every minute of it. And as i rode home my fingers even started to feel warm and i realized how lucky i am to be manualling down a four lane street in the middle of the night in the middle of winter.

Im probably going to look at this in the morning and laugh at how cheesy is sounds, but as i sit here now, it feels all right.

Hahah yeah, i did the same thing awhile ago. I havnt rode in 2 or so months, (like a good full out ride), so one day, I couldnt do trail work cuz it was POURING down rain, I dont know why, but i hopped on my bike, and ripped down some trail by my house, it was the muddiest ive ever been, and it felt great.

Yah I love that feeling i once went away for 3 weeks with no riding and nothing even related to biking and i come home and see my bike and i cant do anything cause i'm feeling great but it is like midnight and dark so the next day i go for a full day ride on fromme. Oh god it was like the best felling in the world (other than A-line).
