I'm liking what they've done with the 224. (splooge worthy pic inside too)

Even lighter than the 223...but most of all, they put the pivot in the right spot.
Pricy, but it's so light that you could build it with average parts and still have a very light DH bike.

I like how they've finally figured out how to propel a bike without the weak point of a chain. Or pedals. You've got to hand it to our bros across the pond...
-what's the claimed weight of that frame? Looks preety nice

The owner of that bike claims his 223 (incl floater) with the same parts was 38. The 224 frame is 1lb lighter, minus the floater = another 1lb, and he's putting the Fox Air shock on it, saving at least 1 more lb.
So he's expecting to have a 35lb DH bike this yr!

223 frame alone was supposed to be just under 10lbs. The 224 is said to be under 9lb!

I must admit id prefered the 222/223 (what is it with me with beefy bikes? Oh well. I must admit it does look good but not a patch on a curtis thumpercross. although its deffinetly the lighter frame. Between the two.

million dola "jules" is a n00b; standing by
i put a dhx air on my 223 and its amazing it weighs 40# but with tubeless and a couple small changes it will take off like 3# and with a diferent fork another pound.

ive only had a couple short dh runs near my house with some tech and some high speed, steep, choppy stuff and the shock really makes a difference over my swinger 4.

For me to consider a single pivot bike, two issues need to be addressed. First is the axle path. The higher the pivot the better. Which brings me to issue #2...the pedal feedback with a high single pivot. It's a personal preference thing, but it drives me nuts. An elevated chainline is good imo (BB7, PDC DH-One, the new Trek Session10 etc...)
But I was looking at the 224 and noticed how the pivot is essentially right in line with the chain coming off the ring. So feedback should be negligable shouldn't it???

i would say yes, minimal feedback. closer the pivot is to the chainring, the less feedback you should have in theory.

the pivot location of the 224 looks to be abotu between that of a heckler and bullit ... pretty low, but it should pedal nicely

Yup. Two way street. Our high end stuff is more expensive for them over there than it is to buy an Orange there. Last time I checked, buying a V10 frame in the UK would run you around $4500can

yeh cheaper over there and also remember UK prices include tax. And if you're out there you'll probably get it back at customs on the way out.

Of course you would then declare it when you get here...or wouldn't you
