Macromedia Studio MX

Does anyone have any of the new macromedia MX programs, such as Flash or Dreamweaver?
If so how does it compare to the earlier releases of this program. Because I want to get Flash and dreamweaver but iam wondering if its worth theupgrade. i heard theres lots of new stuff. but any first hand experience?

Dreamweaver MX is the shit.

Flash is not something I like. (looks amatuerish if not done right)

Fireworks works well with dreamweaver.

I use dreamweaver and fireworks to make webpages, and find that they are the best solutions. MX introduced cool feats like the panel interface and testing servers (for PHP and stuff).

Rider, are you looking for constructive critisism or just proving that flash can look good if done properly?

And yes, MX is worth the upgrade.

soo hard to use flash! i use powerpoint for web pages cuz is noobish

Your skills as a flash designer are obviously above average. Thing is that most clients are not looking for flashy interfaces, they're looking for effective delivery of substance.

There are a LOT of web design firms that have flashy sites intending to use them as showpieces, but you'll notice tha the most succesful companies have simple and effective sites, flexing their muscles in other projects.

Your site is technically impressive, and cool-looking, but it's quite jarring moving from section to section. It's not as cohesive as it could be (suddenly being presented with an orange background with multiple moving headers as an example).

Someone should write a book on zen and the art of flash design.
