earbuds that sound as good as grados sr60's?
Does such thing exist?
I really love how much bass these headphones can pump out, but they leak out so much sound and they're pretty bulky for casual use. |

Etymotic ER-6 will sound about the same if you're looking at a reasonably priced option.
Shure E3 or Etymotic ER-4's are more "lavishly" priced. |

i love my sr60s - i don't find earbuds too comfortable, and i don't listen to music in public a whole ton anyways. if i did i don't know what i'd do...

you know, believe it or not, sony's top of the line ear buds sound really good for the price. they are no Sures... but they are a damn good value.
and no. no ear buds sound as good as reagular headphones. at first you will think they sound really good, becasue the sound is "in" your ear... but after that novelty wears off, they just don't impress. similar to how headphones will never sound as good as a stereo. good earbuds are essentially impossible to find. i'd say comfort is the key variable. all that said, check our b&o's headphones. they have an interesting pair. may be really nice. even the lower-end shures have quality sound, and decent bass output.. just get used to the fact that they are buds.

My friend has those. To be honest, I didn't like them at all. No bass. I guess the sound was OK for earbuds, but definitely not something special He also let me try his friend's 300$ earbuds. I don't remember the brand, but it was red wood clip on. I didn't find them too impressive either ![]() Finally, the same guy, I tried his alexandros (fine tuned grados), again! i wasn't impressed. Maybe it was just the quality of his songs on his ipod |

My shure e3c's rock.
they pump out enough bass to be flat on the EQ. (As opposed to being tinny) As a studio engineer I can say I was really impressed with the shure's. go one step further and get the ear mold's made and you will get studio quality out of them. |
