fork protection

ok, so I have been practicing pedal grinds, but occasionally I hangup my fork on the curb as well. this has developed a slight scrape on the bottm of my left fork leg. What do you think I should do to protect this area?

That DJ Street fork has little guards that protect that area. I've been looking into either trying to obtain some of those or design my own and have them made somewhere.
