DIRTBAG rear wheel path: Too forward arcing?

Hey all. I was noticing the pivot on the DIRTBAG is low and behind the bottom bracket shell. Will this give it a wheelpath that arcs to far forward, scrubbing speed (and traction) deeper in it's travel? Are there any benifits to this location? compared to a bike with a higher, more forward pivot, what would be the strength/weakness of each design (compared to each other). If i ride mostly rocky, rutted terrain and staircase drops, which would be a better choice? Why?

The rear suspension design is very similar to other bikes that are very popular and used with great success in conditions like you have described.

the higher, more forward pivot will work better for what you ride. It will provide smoother suspension at higher speeds, as opposed to a lower aft pivot which will manual easier. Most of the new VPP-inspired designs arc up and back
