AUdio help

Ok I have everything hooked up right.

m-audio -> coax cable -> 1014 reciever

Now... when I play movies with an ac3 soundtrack.. works perfectly.

If I play an mp3 using meida player, BSplayer or winamp.. no go.

Now, if I play a movie in any of the players and THEN load an mp3.. it works fine.

ok.. WTF

I seem to remember having a similar problem a long time ago and eventually finding out that it was a codec problem. Not that that helps a lot..

Honestly though, I could be way off.

that's whack. try googling the ace mega codec pack. i use it and i haven't had anything not be able to play. look around for digital output only tickbox somewhere possibly? shit i dunno i'm just throwing ideas out. check dxdiag maybe? reinstall soundcard drivers? screw around in the ac3 config maybe?
