How seriosuly do people take online petitions? Can opponents challenge/verify an online petition? Does an online petition have any legal standing in BC? I'm no lawyer, but I'd be interested to know this.

I have always suspected that the pen-and-paper ones (signed with signer's address) are taken more seriously. I know, its a lot more work. If you want someone to stand at the yellow gate with clipboards and pens ask Sharon for my email address/phone. Given that this is a local/community issue (as opposed to something like "Petition to End World Hunger"), I think a pen-and-paper petition would have more credibility. Just my 2 cents. D.

It's good Mark.

I think we should also organize a CRITICAL MASS RIDE FOR THE TRAILS.

See if we can get a couple of thousand MTB'rs out for a protest ride.

Just a word of caution.

Do we even know what staff's recommendation is or read their report? We know they want to throw in a couple of parking lots so presumably there is some allowance for trails up there, but there MIGHT be a recommendation in there to close half the trails and remove all built up structures.

Before we throw our support behind staff's recommendations, lets be 110% sure what they are and what the down the road implications might be.

Online petition is a great idea.
A critical mass ride in support of the trails to show our numbers and that we are serious is also a great idea.
If it comes down to it what about blockading the DNV staff if they do try to go in to tear down the trails.
I think we should try to draw as much attention to the issue as we can, and educate the public about the real nature of what goes on up there.
