Cool artilcle guys, i remember the first one way back. It's good to see the girls are still hard at it and having fun. I never realized the "new " bomber girls were riders and I think that's awesome. I always felt that the " models as bomber girls " was kinda cheesy. I mean as a guy I can't complain about the eye candy aspect of the idea but it was just a little over the top in the adds etc. I guess they would attract a crowd though so who's to say.

I loved the "Dirty Girls" article. I too am totally stoked that there are women like this in out sport. I am glad that there are young women out there riding despite any flack, be it from friends, parents, other riders etc. I know that there are women on this bb that ride, and I wish that I could meet them. Trinity would have been an awesome rider, I am sure of it, and with role models like the Dirty Girls, many young gilrs, and boys, will be more influenced to get out and ride.

I always thought that the Porn Star/Marzocchi girl was shite. It was plain stupid. Now that they have finally bucked up, and put real riders, female riders, in the ad's I am super stoked. A porn star does not make me want to ride. A true blue dirt lovin, bike ridin lady (like my wife) makes me want to ride.

I couldn't agree more. Whenever i saw those ads I thought, "Since when is mountain biking a rockstar sport?!" It was stupid and I thought it wasn't doing the sport any good. When I think of a 'pension fork, I want to think of either badass girls or badass guys, not pornstars!

Girls who can actually ride, and ride like these girls can are way better to see than some high maitenance piece of eye candy.
These girls are the real thing and would be way more fun to spend time with.

This is the drop itself. The year before this ride knolly rode the drop and I believe he was the first one to ride it. I think he was a bit brighter then me and stuck a rock at the bottom to provide some kind of transistion. He did it on a short-travel dually.

Took a course at Whistler with Lisa and have been running into her around Europe, definately a good hoot yet she's taken by da man Mr Gracia

Katrina also a top notch girl that tends to think Big. She was eyeing this 20x20 up in Munich and if it wasn't for the sore thumb she was gone.

Nice job. Seems funny how it all started though eh. Meet a few hard core girlie riders on Boogieman.

I'd say NSMB helped quite a few get their feet off the ground.

the one thing i notice about chicks when they ride is they are more relaxed...you always get some guys who straight arm everything and are playing captian stiffy the whole way down the trail..but when you watch girls ride they are 99% of the time more relaxed in the arms and less tense over the bike. It makes the riding look so much better

you need some recovering equestrian chicks ,they are already used to going fast, getting sweaty/dirty and falling from great heights.

the last one I met even had her dads x-cab pickup for shuttling

Thanks for the positive feedback, everybody. Glad you liked the article. Lisa and Katrina are really down-to-earth people, and they're going to go a long way in the sport.

Justin - you're right about them being positive role models, and they know that. This sport needs positive role models - male and female.

Lee - thanks for posting a visual so people can get some idea of what the line was like. It looks rideable...

I have to say I am happy that Marzocchi is finally stepping up big by changing their Bomber Girl marketing to Katrina and Lisa. Ladies do ride, lots and lots and lots of us, but the last thing I want to buy is a product being represented by some adult entertainment models. I buy products marketed to me and I think a lot of women agree with that.
I also hated the idea of having a bike company being paying out a bunch of marketing dollars to ladies who don't ride but are good at staring in pornographic films. Marketing dollars should go into the pockets of a couple of great riders and people like Katrina and Lisa.
I hope the rest of the industry takes a look at what Marzocchi is up to for 2005 and try to change the way women look at themsleves and their value to biking companies.
