Personally, I prefer to predict things after they happen. This predicting in advance is just too funky.

The stuff on the Mars face... nice that they managed to dig up an old photo before adaptive optics and such cleaned up the image. A modern decent image of it looks nothing like a face, unless you put a little vasaline on the lense and squint.

About the "perfectly symmetrical pyramids"... how exactly are they perfect? Even at a glace they're asymetrical to the eye, nevermind detailed measurements. That's assuming that they're even pyramids at all... I'd like to see modern clean photos of the same areas.

Ah I get it... he's got his info backwards. The image that disproves his theory is the original high-res image from NASA, and the other one is a mangled old image, also from NASA. If memory serves, the one he's got is from a ground-based observatory, while the other one is hubble.

The atmosphere is a giant wad of vasaline that makes blobs out of nice sharp features.

And yet -- despite all this remarkable evidence, gathered all in one place on the Martian surface -- the only mainstream media coverage the "Face" ever receives consists of crude attempts to make it still appear as merely a psychological "trick of light and shadow"; the deliberately degraded reproductions (below), again and again washing out all of the highly detailed photographic contrast in the original digital NASA images

My point is that what he calls "the highly detailed photographic contrast in the original digital NASA images" are actually extremely low detail, old, blurry NASA images. What he calls a "deliberately degraded reproduction" looks... just odd.

Stacy, the theories are great, but you can find numbers for anything anywhere. If you haven't read Foucault's Pendulum please do. I think you'd find it quite interesting.

This "face on mars" is reminding me of the lady who found the face of the Virgin Mary on her grilled cheese sandwich .

I find it funny that people are so scared and paranoid about comets and such hitting us. If it's going to happen then it will happen. There isn't a whole lot that we can do about it. It is part of nature, life and death, give and take, yin and yang. The fact that life could be extinguished is all the more reason to enjoy it.

I don't know, I guess I just don't care that much about these warnings.

The article is interesting though and I'd like to see more research on it. Really though it seems to me that man meddles in too much as it is. The research is interesting, I look forward to when they present it and make it usable.
