Need some advice...

Hey guys, been a while since I been here

Anyway, my bike got jacked while I was gone and I need some advice for something to replace it with. The bike was a 2k1 Giant AC1, I would really like to replace it with a similiar type of bike--fairly heavy duty but still rideable uphill Insurance company says im looking for a comparably priced model, so I am looking at a budget of around 2k dollars. Thanks for the help!

Sports Junkies in Port Moody has a few of those bikes for cheap, and they look to be in mint shape.

Lovin my Peston.

May be a little heavier (more durable) than the AC1.

a complete preston from darksyde would be like 3500. little more than the $2k he's looking to spend.

Sorry should have mentioned that I live in Washington, so don't really have any way to get to port moody, I guess im mostly just looking for a fairly mainstream bike that is similiar to what I used to have.

Try a Kona Stinky. Fairly similiar design, well depending on what you believe, Giant took the old Kona Stinky frame to make the AC1.

Other possibilities: Norco VPS, Rocky Mountain Switch, Iron Horse 7Point, Specialized BigHit

For the money, good choice.

Or look at a Coiler. You can get them for well within your price range.

Well, a Preston isn't that much over budget: about $2400 with a Flick Plus.

Thanks for pointing out the obvious.

The question is from someone in the US: his US insurance company will be paying off in US dollars, hence there is no need to reinforce that a bike purchased directly from a US company is priced in US $.

My bad.

Totally missed his post where he mentioned he was from Washington, but that should be obvious considering the obvious wasn't obvious to me

Gotta agree with the Preston if you can make it work. It's a workhorse in all conditions.
