No soliciting on the boards

This is a note to everyone who has, or is thinking about, soliciting on the nsmb boards - it's not allowed. Threads soliciting something, whether they're in NBR or not, will more than likely be nuked.

That means you can't look for writers for your own bike site, advertise hot tubs, or try to raise money for your church bake sale.

The only exceptions to this will be things like worthwhile charitable causes (as determined by nsmb staff), such as the tsunami relief efforts or the money that was raised for Trinity.

If you would like to advertise something on the site, we're more than willing to sell you banner ad space. Please contact Pete@nsmb.com if you would like to buy an ad.

If you've got a cause you think is worth promoting, please fire an email off to Cam@nsmb.com or Stuart@nsmb.com and we'll do our best to make sure people know about it.

Thanks for your understanding.

Just in case you are puzzled by this - I'll explain some.

We all get inundated with ads, spam, hucksters constantly these days. We'd like to limit that as much as possible in this environment to bike related information or worthy causes we'd like to support.

Our advertisers help us keep this board up, fast, free and running smoothly so obviously they get some nice play - but they deserve it and you should thank them.

We aren't saying you can't tell board members about your Web site where you posted photos from your last ride or a site you discovered that you like or even the last episode of Ride Guide or Drop In - we're all over that.

But if you are trying to publicize some product your uncle makes or you are spamming the board with info about something you are trying to promote that's not cool.

Use this community to be sure - but please don't abuse it.

Muchos Gracias
