My Final Decision...

SO I finally made my Decision. I am building th Pipeline. I had a long thought about an Azonic DS-1 that I saw in the Buy n Sell fr 500.00. But I figured that I could not go that route and pay out a chunk of cash in one go. I figured that I would be better off doing something where I can pay bit by bit. So the Pipeline is being overhauled, and built. It'll have:

'99 Pipeline
Psylo XC 20mm 5" travel
Single ring upfront on Truvative Husselfelt Cranks
8 Speed Cass.
SRAM Chain
Shimano Rapidfire rear shifter
V-Brakes front and rear
Crap WTB Tires temporarily
Sigma E front wheel/20mm hub
Rhyno Lite on Deore hub rear
Basic stem, and my .243 bar
Basic post and saddle
FSA headset, and grips!!

I'm going to get the rear hub switched over to my other Sigma-E as well.

Rocky Cycle has given a really sweet deal on the parts and stuff. I pick it up on the 15th.

I am excited to have this bike. It'll be for 4X, urban and some XC duty...

Any comments?

Pics will come when it's built... and yes I'll paint it asap... Black.

youre wasting your money building a pipeline.....buy one of those $200 kuahara frames and build it up......trust me,the pipeline was never a good idea.

I respect sprucing up something old rather than being a consumer whore though. Kudos

Here's the idea. I'll also have the saddle up for XC, but this is the idea.
I know it's old, but I had to use it. I got off of Zedbra for a case o beer (the cash equivelant anyway )
So I figure that I'd make use of it. I'll get a big comfy saddle, for the days when we'll take my Mom, and Elaine's Mom out for bike rides

All I know is that I'll be happy. And maybe next year or something... if I've killed it off, or I've gotten another raise, I'll buy a good frame, and do a swap, but for now... It'll be my 2nd hackster.

my buddy picked up a nice pipeline in the summer. it had hayes mags(front lever was broken), jr.t, vanilla rc, xt all around with race face cranks. its nice, and it only cost him 1000 at a pawn shop(he lives in the ghetto so there is lots of stolen crap in them). i think the frame is a 2000 or 2001.

Well, we do... since it's the purpose of this forum to nitpick and discuss gear

Good luck Justin and I hope everything works out. Good to have you out riding. One of these days we'll have to go for a rip together.
