Exclamation Deal too good to be true? Run the serial number here
Before you buy that wicked deal you found on a used bike, why not run the serial number first?
It only takes a second and if more people did this, it would go a long way towards cracking down on thieves.
If you don't double check the serial, and the bike is stolen, you'll lose that bike and your cash.

Would be nice if every bike repair shop did this check too ... you would never be able to take a hot bike in for repairs/tune up without being red-flagged. D.

I guess this works in person to person deals, but over the internet the person could just give u a fake serial # and it wouldnt show up.....

You could get them to send a pic of the serial on the bike. If they send a fake, then that's mail fraud.
