So some dude crashed into my truck
at around 4 this morning, some dude slid in the snow and kicked the crap out of my mazda b2200. The frame is bent, and the rear is crumped up. It's pretty much a write-off. The guy that hit it is paying for it all (obviously), but I was just wondering if anyone knows how long it takes for icbc to work through it all and get me either A) money or B) repairs.

I had my accident on Tuesday night and I just found out today that my car is a write-off. I won't see a cheque for another few days though so you're pretty much looking at around a week.

It's all totally dependant on how busy the Kamloops claim centre is. With the way the weather has been lately it will most likely take longer.

Yeah you're looking at a week as your best case scenario. I also guarantee that you'll be seeing a cheque and not your truck repaired if your frame is bent and the rear is munched, especially if it's an older model.
Start lookin for a new rig now and get ahead of the game.

yea, I've got a nice subaru legacy awd lined up if I go car. If I go truck...probably a toyota or another mazda.

Yea since the vehicle was still under my dad's name, I may be getting a rental. Commuting to work is such a hassle now, considering Kamloops public transit blows.

I got a rental today, thank god. All I gotta do now is see what the inspector says, and then either wait for repairs (not likely) or pick out a new vehicle

thats awesome. I think I'm gonna go Mazda again, this time upgrade to the 2600.
