Is it my pedals or my crank arm thingy?

I have a question....I kinda ripped out my pedal yesterday on a ride and I thought it had just become unthreaded but when I tried to put it back in, the pedal didn't fit into the crank arm anymore. So did I completely wear it out on the pedal or on the crank? What would I have to do if it's the crank arm that's also got threads that were ripped out? Would I need a new set or just replace the arm?

(I'm hoping that it's just the pedal then I can just get new ones...)

What Cranks Do you have? Sounds like you stripped the threads on your cranks...and yes you can buy just the one arm.

some generic shimano ones that came with my bike...ah well...I guess I'll have to pick one of those up. I think that's what happened too...but I'm going to go to the shop where I bought the bike and see if they can replace it for cheap or free.

it was friend of nelson and mine who did that to his crank, 4 stair drop and no he isnt the smoothest rider i know (then again neither am i) but he doesnt have the bike anymore anyways. funny story when the crank arm was sent in norco sent one for the other side which turned out to be in worse shape

Mine have lasted nearly 5 years of riding, big drops, and dirtjumping. No complaints here
