Boot help - X Wave or CRL ? insight
I wear a 10.5-11 atheletic shoe, and have a wide foot, but not THAT wide.
Been trying to decide what options would be good. Be doing all mountain, powder, trees, steeps, NO park though Looking at Salomon X Wave 8 and possibly the Lange CRL 80/90 also heard of Technica Beasts. how do lange CRL fit and the beasts? I head with my shoe, a X Wave 28 or 28.5 would be perfect once packed in.. help guys please! |

I have the Corssmaxes... basically he same boot, but one step stiffer than the stiffest X wave (10??)... I would suggest getting one step stiffer (xwave 9)
anyway the boot is pretty tall (which i LOVE) and has a very nice shin bed. as for the actual foot mold, it fits MY foot perfectly. everyone's gonna say to try them on.... and i agree. still my foot is not wide, but i have to sinch (sp?) them down pretty tight. I have a normal arch. the best aspect of the boot is the height. very tall/nice shin bed Last edited by BoyBoy; 12-05-2004 at 12:18 AM. |

But my connections at sport chek say that Last years Nordica W8 or this year's Beast 8 is one of the widest boots on the market.

i've got the cross max 10's, there good boots, same as the x wave 10's, just a different paint job
there a nice fairly stiff boot, like all salomons they fit well for people with a bit wider foot |

v10 rider, the difference is huge in price between the Crossmax 10 /xwave 10 and the xwave 8 he is looking for.
River Rat. You are basically looking at 2 different extremes for boots here. The Salomon is one of the widest boots you can find, and the Lange tends to be one of the narrowest. I tried the Xwave 8 and it fits me perfectly, and the then tried a Lange equivalent on and it just felt like hell. The only way you can see which boot is better is to try them both on. And get them fitted properly, because I am a size 10 shoe (which would be a 28 ski boot) but for ski boots I wear a 26.5 (which is about a 8.5 shoe size). A bigger size might feel better right away, but later when you can't control your skis you will wish you went smaller. And buy special insoles, unbelievable difference in comfort.

i have a stupid wide foot and the 1080s are a perfect match for me..that along with custom insoles and you have a boot you can walk around in all day without really even noticing you have a skiboot on.
