Basketball Photos

Well, I do photography for my school's yearbook. Today we had a game between the Teachers and the Senior Girls Basketball team (who just won last nite in the city finals! lol ). It was a fun, entertaining game.

Its probably a little bit of both, NS. Your camera probably doesnt have the same capabilities (settings) as me, and I know how to use them well. Just creates an overall good image.

Settings were:

1/100sec
f8?
somewhere around there, im too lazy to look at the EXIF data

i didn't even know the rebel could use an ISO of 1600 in the first place. my camera has that digic chip same as a rebel, it seems to do nothing.

That is true. My camera doesn't do good pictures on anything less than ISO 100. I tend to forget about ISO because of that.

The digic chip only works on the data it's given. What sensor do you have? If you don't have a big, high quality sensor (DSLR), the digic chip won't have much to work with. Thus the lower quality output.

If you have an old film camera laying around (even a cheap point and shoot model), you can buy iso 1600 film for $9 and get 24 good shots out of it.
