on the world stage , alison sydor is arguably the most accomplished canadian off road cyclist . that would be a good profile to cover : home grown north shore girl who took her talents to the very top .

Wade is washed up.
What about Schley? He is the most published rider in the world. Gretzky or Roy would be good as hockey players.

Pierre Burton, with out him and the C.B.C there would be no such thing as a Canadian, we'd all just be a bunch of low rent Americans. oh wait... too late

Farley Mowat, even though he's actually a Scot by birth.
Or try one of the great Native leaders. HIstorically Tecumseh was quite the character. Chief Dan George from the local Burrard Band was a pretty cool guy, and the current band chief is his nephew Lenny who is also a very inspirational cat. If you want to get into some serious Canadians, check out "A Man Called Intrepid". I forget the guy's real name, but he was the guy who started the OSS in WW2, which eventually became the CIA in the US and MI6 in the UK. He probably did more than any other single person to win the war. He is the guy that Ian Fleming based the James Bond stories on. |
