get your hands on a good bmx mag, they'll be three or four adds for them, then pick your color and price and call them.

Have you looked in Ride-On? They used to carry Etnies. I'd call before you go. They've moved to Main St. Also, Cove used to carry the bmx models.

West49 has decent selection and prices. There's a really good skateshoe model (Benson?) there that I've been using for a while now. Very durable, great grip, and lots of pedal feel.

Many of their bmx models have air pocket in heel. These inevitably pop and then make squish squish noise when you get north shore water in them. Recommend you buy one without the visible air.

www.danscomp.com or the dans comp mag... only thing i can think of.

i just went to a skate shop and tried on what looked like they had a good, pedal-gripping sole.

i've had good luck with them so far.... not etnies though.

Oh crap that's where I bought mine. I love them and would get another pair without thinking about it.

actually ride on has moved to main and something but i dont believe they carry them any more. Plus etnies only still makes a Mike Escamillia shoe. Go with some Orchids or Loteks. I love my orchid vandevers and would definitly buy another pair. U can go to Ride On or 3 Ride and check em out

hampstead bandit is a n00b; standing by
i went through alot of shoes as skater, and getting back into bikes i thought the Etnies should rule, as past few years i split Vans, Osiris (junk!!!) etc. from riding

i reckoned the Etnies being bmx pro shoes would handle some freeride, but hell i was wrong

i bought my first pair of Etnies end of last year, but the summer i had to claim 3 times on warranty, i ended up going through 5 pairs within a year, all failed with soles splitting, glue coming unstuck, etc.

now i've switched to Oakley team Issue (like Gracia wears) , apart from the shock absorber coming unstuck in the footbed (easily fixed with hot glue gun) they've been great, super grippy, strong toebox, some weird materials that don't smell when feet sweaty, and look fine, i got another 3 pairs already

i dunno ive had my pair of etnies throttle 2s for almost 2 years now and i love'm. Ive worn out the inside of the shoe (but i always do that due to my orthotics). So yeah i guess im just not as hard on shoes but i also really only used them for riding. But check out Orchid ive had mine since may and they are going strong. Sole is starting to wear. The leather inside the shoe means i dont wear out the inside of the heal which i love.
