I finally got my roof racks. Thanks for all the input from everyone.

Hey guys and gals,

A few weeks ago I was asking for advice on roof vs hitch racks. I have since got the new Subie and racked her with some Thule Super Gs. All the infor everyone provided was very helpful and I really do appreciate it, thank-you.

I have since seen the same car with a hitch rack, no thanks. It sits 4inches off the ground and is waaaay too low for my taste. As you may remember I live in a condo with underground parking so the roof system would pose a bit of a pain in the ass. However, it turns out to be really easy for me. The Super Gs can be loaded and unloaded in 5 seconds flat and I never have to need a bike-bar adaptor ever again. The racks are sturdy and have nice look to them up or down.

It was a good purchase and thanks again for the help.

I bought the car from Subaru and as it turns out they are also a Thule dealer. They had a promotion on and I got the SuperGs for free with the car. Otherwise $250 each plus taxes.

$259.95 + taxes to be exact.
(well, take off 10% for your bro card)

If you have no problem getting bikes on the roof, Super G's or Yakima Cobra's are the way to go.
