Trails around Salmon Arm???

Please, let there be a God...

I'm moving to Salmon Arm very shortly and am DESPERATELY in search of at least one good technical trail there to give me my North Shore fix.

What I've found so far is pretty disappointing (Rubberhead). Does anyone know of any 'secret' trails in the area with fairly big drops (8-12 ft), gaps and skinnies?

If not, are there any Salmon Arm riders who would be interested in building a new technical trail?

Thanks,
Chris

I haven't built but I've been to a few trail days not to mention helped keep some DJ's in top-shape. I'm not shooting my mouth of, I'm just saying that Salmon Arm needs more hardcore trails.

PS- It's a shame we couldn't ride, didn't get my bike back from the shop until wensday night

If you are looking to put some energy into some "hardcore" trails, there are two sitting unfinished up past the top of Upper Schizo. One is called Dirty Gerbil, the other is nameless. They both start in the same area, and both have drops and steeps, but are not finshed. No sense starting another trail that one or two people ride, when you can help get these done and help everyone out.

The expansion on Rubberhead that is under way also provides lots of opportunities for tech lines to be built off the main trail, as long as they don't affect the main line. If you want a tour of what I am talking about, let me know. I would be happy to show you!

Cheers

Thanks for the info, I was wondering what the story is with Dirty Gerbil. I took a look at it earlier this summer and at first glance seemed to be an old, forgotten about trail with lots of blowdown, etc. I may need to start packing a handsaw to help that trail along! As for the nameless trail, is that off the same forestry road, before or after dirty gerbil?
