180lbs

using a 650 * 1.9"

i have the preload dialed up a bit

*edit: i'm using the longer spring on the stock 1.5" stroke shock because it feels better than going to a 700 with no preload

wow, i weigh like 140 lbs. just bought a used 03 4by frame and it came with a 800 lb. spring. i've only ridden it down stairs, but it does feel a bit harsh.

what spring weight came stock with your bike?

that's crazy!

i'm 170 w/out gear and i run a 700lb on my Enduro SX (very similar bikes, both 4bars with Vanilla R & almost same stoke).

and the 700 is pretty harsh on the little stuff, but on the plus it doesn't really ever bottom out (since I got the "big hit" valving... huge difference).

the 700 was stock on my SX.

i think the 600 or 650 was stock on the 02 4bys?

185, running a 700...feels perfect... and never bottoms, as said, it's alittle harsher on the little stuff, but seeing as it's the crappy Vanilla nothing that came on the thing it's not too bad, I just run about a half a turn of pre-load when it get's rough, and it feels fine... I'm interested in the longer spring idea, I kinda thought of doing the same thing to avoid coil bind, cause with the stock shock/spring, there's ALOT of threaded area for the pre-load collar eh, looks like I could run another 1/2 in of spring there ...

wow I can't type today.
