Bighit shock settings

Ok, so i've been riding my bighit comp for like 9 months now and have had the shock in the middle hole(see pic). I moved it around to the other ones today and rode around a little on both and didn't really notice much difference in shock feel. So what exactly do these other settings do?

the lower the hole the more progressive the stroke of the shock.

I have mine set in the middle of the progressive holes, in "A" position....

that helped. I do bottom out sometimes so what should i set the shock on?

If you are bottoming out only sometimes, best to leave it as is (middle position i think you said, although in your picture its set to the linear position)... as you progress as a rider, and find that you are bottoming out constantly, swith it to the highest progressive setting (follow the arrows to the lowest hole)
