my dad serves legal papers and he gets quite a few people being sued for opening car doors and killing a cyclist. its quite scary.

When you are riding up to a parked car look and see if you can see anyone inside. Stay as far away from it as possible and if you a a driver. always check in the mirror and over your shoulder for cyclists

i would hate to kill someone for being careless

Yup.. he was a 40 year old lawyer if i recall... happened in the Dunbar area.

I always check for people in parked cars when i'm riding by, but often with tinted windows you can't see until its too late. Accordingly I try to stay at least a door width away from parked cars. Sure it pisses off the drivers behind me who are all too anxious to get past me, but I care more about my own personal safety then their impatience

car doors are definately scary.


Actually a while back, i was biking down blundell, and some person just pulls into their drive way and i brake as hard as i can but boom i go into the car door. Fucken dumbasses.

ps. i never knew multiple myoloma was so rare. My mom died from it =(

This one shocked me...there's Mexico and then there's the rest of the world added up there.
I'll definitely be wary when I'm somewhere up high in Mexico. Oddly enough, saw some show on Discovery earlier this week where Jesse James & Kid Rock rode thru Mexico and were sitting at the edge of Copper Canyon - it was a high place
