Talking 4 Lost Souls

Well I had likely one of the best rides ever in my life this weekend.

Me and a couple buddies went to Eagle (my first time in 12 years). We hiked up the Dentist and then made our way to the top of 4 lost Souls. OH MY FREAKING GOD!!!!!! The only trail for me that comes close to this one for pure fun factor is A-Line. The flow an the total FUN factor of 4 Lost Souls is unmatched. The 4 pack of step downs to wooden berm to wall ride was sooooo sweet. This trail is the reason I ride, this trail is the reason I build, this trail is the type of trail packed with hit after hit after hit that all just line each other up. I rode it Saturday and I still have a smile on my face from ear to ear.

So to all the builders of 4 Lost Souls, stellar work. You now have HUGE fan in me.

The rest of the ride consisted of Massage Therapy, More Massage, Manhandler, 3 Little Pigs, Randy's and then some trail that scoots along the backyards of some new houses. Not a bad morning of riding and I cannot wait to get back up there.

I feel 4 Lost Souls is the blueprint for the perfect trail, that is how much I enjoyed myself.

Later,

Thedude

Have they fixed that first stunt yet?
It was pretty rickety the last time I was there.
If you liked 4 Lost Souls walk up a bit further and hit Fat Bastard.

4LS is all in primo shape. Fat Bastard is a little worse for wear these days, but the boys are hard at work.

I've ridden 4L$ (4L$ cause it's money) too and it is hella fun, I always have a great day on Eagle when I start with that trail. The big gapper at the start of the "4 pack of drops" needs some work since the last time I was there tho, it's getting pretty sketch.

I would call 4L$ a stunt trail tho and not a mtb trail. IMO, a mtb trail is something like the Cherry/Roaches run on Cypress, that's real mtb'ing.

Both are more than worthy of being called excellent trails--wether the trail is one stunt after another,or all natural features.both are MTB trails IMO,but depending on riding style, one will be more fun than the other.I personally prefer to build "stunt trails" because i like weilding the chainsaw so much...others feel far more satisfied with a good section of rock armoring.
out of curiosity,is the trail you're building stunts or natural mark?I'm dying to hit it up..whens it going to be open?

lol - My trail has a lots of "natural" stunts on it. There are some beauty log rides on it and few other goodies too. I was plagued by fairly flat terrain in the area I am working on so adding features was kinda necessary.

I think what makes trails like Cherry so good is the craziness of the natural lines. Finding those lines is hard work cause it's not like they just laying around in the forest everywhere. Even tho any type of riding is good, natural is always more fun in my books.

fock yeah,i love cypress.there isn't anything crazier...i get bored of riding ladders and that after a while too...but up here there are not really any crazy natural lines to be found. no matter what, cypress will always have a place in my heart...and i'll always remember it kicking my ass hahaha.

Cypress, for me. is the cats ass!! 5th horseman, Roaches, sexboy, gives me the SMILES!! Did Sexgirl today. Buddy went over the bars 3 times today down that trail. Never laughed so hard in my life. Thanks,Mike!! Four Lost Souls, Fat Bastard , etc. Also make me smile. Every once in awhile, I love built up stuff. Eagle does it for me Super great flow and just alotta fun!! Great trail to learn on to do stunts. Nothing too big for the intermediate rider who wants to go a little "bigger" than Seymour. Fat Bastard is awesome for speed. Kinda needs work, but super fun. Props to the builders up there
