Permenent Marker - Remover

How do you get permanent marker off of stuff?
I wrote some hilarious sayings on my fullface helmet, but its to small now, so i want to get rid of it and get a larger size. But i cant really sell it with the "hilarious sayings"

Is there wany way to get it off with out ruining the clearcoat/paint

try paint thinner, maybe dilute it first.
They also sell stuff called goof off or something like that. It is made for glue and stuff like that. I might work.

brake kleen! spray on wipe off. just dont leave on too long. works beautifully, on everything haha

bah, that stuff is weak compared to brake kleen, thats for housewives, brake kleen is a real mans cleaner!

ps: If any one is looking for a fullface helmet pm it..
Its a 03 661 fullbravo, red. I used it once here in alberta, then on my bc trip last summer and that was it . I tryed it on last week and its to small, there is one paint chip on the back from hitting my pedal while in the truckand a scrape on the back from bending over then standing up and scraping some guys bar..

rubbing alcohol worked for me once..the 99% stuff.
