2002 DJ1's

I've just started DJ'ing!!!!!! azah! it's amazing! but latley i've been noticing that, with the bike upside down and my foot on the handle bars, i can twist the tire left to right and the forks will contort to the movement, now its not a lot, maybe 2 - 3 CM, but is this a problem i should try and fix before riding again? or is it even worth mentioning (to late eh?

) anyways, not to worried, but would love some feedback,

This sounds standard, mine do that, my buddies do that. So ya have fun riding.

ya if it was totaly rigid it wouls crack and u would be hurt lol

I broke a z5and a jrt in the same spots they just seem to break lol.

that's waht happens when you misuse things meant for helping your wheel track along the ground

marzes fault anythways for not adfvertising it proiblerly

My '02 DJ1 QR20 that I got in September '02 is still unbroken....

I would ride the 02 and not worry about it, but I also wouldn't expect it to last. Yours might, but mine didn't. Plan on upgrading...

I "misused" and broke two 02 "Dirt Jumper" forks doing, guess what? Dirt jumping (actually just riding trails mostly). Never cased my front wheel or had a bad crash with either one and actually had very few miles on either.

I agree that it was not advertised properly. It should have been called the "Heavy Duty Trail But Don't Leave The Ground I". The 03 was a huge improvement in strength and stiffness (the original point of this thread), but I now trust my grill and my life to an 02 Monster!

It's set to ~6" travel and now it's the best trail fork ever!

yeah but the 03's are cracking just as much... so meh.

I moved to DC. Won't go back now.

03's had the problem with the crown's instead of the stantions snapping.

I had a guy roll up to our jumps yesterday (Sans bicyclette, just there to smoke up) telling us about his forks. He had a "European promo Marzocchi Z3 fork" from back in 2000. One of his buddies was doing the shipping and stuff for it, and 5 of em happened to "fall off the back of the truck" Got it for $50 instead of the $700 retail, but get this, sure 5" was big back in the day, but these promos had 6" of travel!

I said "wow, sweet deal!" and continued to jump...
