Marin Wildcat trail

My friend has a Marin wild cat trail for sale for 150$ would it be a good deal to buy this and put on a 5th element or other kind of shock other than a fox. Also how do these frames hold up? Anyone have any experinace. I think it would ride similar to a bullit once it has a 5th on it or am I totally off?

I personally wouldn't touch a Marin with a 10 foot pole. One frame broke in 2 weeks of trail riding when I had an injury. They thru axel stuff now but I'm not willing to try it out. I lost all confidence when the company stereotyped me as one of those "north west hucker types".

My buddy had one for a few years. One front triangle and 2 swingarms later....And he's a pretty smooth rider too. I'd steer clear of them.

its a decent frame for what ur looknig to pay...

dont run it at the 10" setting thou... the frame is underbuilt for that level of travel...

just be sure to look the frame over for cracks. esp along the swingarm.....

depends on what your looknig to do with it thou...its def. on the "lighter" freeride side as compared to say a BIGHIT or Norco...

hope that helps...

Check the frame out. If there's no cracks or linkage problems, $150 is a pretty good deal, especially if the shock is a Vanilla RC.

crownroyal is a n00b; standing by
my buddy's been riding a rock springs for about 3 years and the only problem he's had was a bad seal on his fork. The bikes are great for xc, and $150 seems like a good deal if that's what you're in to.
