Last night, from Granville street downtown Vancouver, some cacksucker stole our car ( child seats and all ).
The license plate # is KHW 344 The only difference between the photo and our car is the wheel covers ( we had a sportier 5-hole design ) and we had no black plastic trim along the doors and quarter-panels. This is a '95 Geo Metro, green, 5-speed standard. Any help locating our car would be greatly appreciated as ICBC seems to think that a family's lifeline ( work, school, and pleasure ) can only be measured by some dildo writing a book on market value.... PM me...

That sucks.
Don't sweat it too much. Your car will be found today, if it has not been found already. The majority of thefts are just so the scum bags can either get from A to B, or to use as a vehicle to break into homes or other cars. A Geo Metro isn't going to be taken for parts and stripped or shipped off for resale. It is VERY unlikely is will be trashed...usually when you see trashed/burned cars it is someone trying to scam ICBC. It is too risky for theives to draw any special attention to themselves...they often just park them and walk away. My bet is it gets found today with the door lock punched out, ignition knocked out, and a few personal items missing. No sense being mad at ICBC, they do what they can and they will take care of you. Direct your anger at the lax laws for car thieves and our revolving door justice system for them. They will find it, process it, and you'll be back in action next week, all repaired with a freshly painted door. You will get a courtesy car as soon as either a) 3 days pass without locating it (unlikely) or b) it goes to the shop of your choice for repair. Good luck! |

well, seeing as mullet said everything that was needed.
This year Arctic cat snowmobiles made a new snowmobile using a Geo metro motor, and put a turbo on it, doubling the horse power Neat huh? |

Too bad for him. He could have bought 3 immobilizers for the amount he is paying out for his deductable. Get an immobilizer. Thief tries to steal vehicle and gets stumped. Provided there is evidence the thief was unable to start it (ie: ignition has been tampered with), ICBC waives your deductable. Tell your boss its time. |

I'd be happy to give a car thief keys to my truck...and then sit by with a few drinks in a lawn chair and watch him try and start it.
I'd even take the steering wheel club off for him too. Unless you have a tow truck, you are not taking my truck.

They are only as strong as the weakest link...ie: the steering wheel, which is a foam wrapped hollow metal tube. I'd take it off to save the extra damage. I wasn't implying that my truck was safe because of it. |

what kind of immobilizer?
a starter kill or ignition system kill.. cause if its a standard and its just a starter kill, you can still try and roll start..
