the buyer backed out, and they kept the fork...he had asked them to ship it out...they agreed to ..but never did, the fork sat for a month or two, then went on there display....they are now trying to sell it now, they had the kids info and all, but just kept it. I used to work there and saw it all happen....super shady!!

Usually when you escrow through a shop the money is sent to the shop, shop holds the MO while the fork is sent, and once fork is recieved, seller gets money? The shop would not be able to cash the MO that way...

That story is a sad one to hear, confusing too. I hope the seller gets their fork back, and the shop gets their just desserts.

I'd be willing to drive the kid (or whoever really) down there but then we get into the hoopla about proof of ownership and if they'll release the fork. Preferable if no shenanigens were involved.

Do you know for a FACT that they just kept the kids fork and they aren't selling it for him on consignment.

I am not doubting your intentions but you should get the your facts straight before you proceed.

Facts not "what you heard from whoever".

My mental change purse is two cents lighter.

yes, I used to work there, when this all started it was on its way back to the kid....I then went to interbike...(this was longer ago than I thought) got back they had fired me..and they let me go...due to snow season and lack of bike customers...no biigie, I understand....i went in the shop the other day to get somthing..and it was on display, I asked whats up with it...and they luaghed and said they kept it...when they let me go it was inn the box with his address ready to go....but between me leaving and who knows what .....they kept it.......i have tons of other stories about this shop...but Im not here to bash them..just get the kid his gear back....i know I can barley afford a fork and Im 27 with a job...he was young...so i feel bad and want to help.... ,...does this help at all?...
