headsets?
Need a new headset , looking at FSA pig .Seems to fit the bill it cheap looks tough , I think there popular?
Whats the sealing like ? Is it worth the extra lolly to go for a pig DH pro ( twice the price, still pretty cheap tho) No i wont get a Chris King

Dont worth the money, from what ive seen, the sealed pig has more issues then the regular one. The bearings on the sealed one dont sit in the cups as nicely. Ive used the standard unsealed pigs for years, great headset for the money. Just clean the bearings every few weeks/months.

I have owned 2 pig pro head sets and the bearings have always fit perfectly fine. I recommend the sealed version, its smoother then the standard pig.

i've used the "unsealed" BMX bigballed Pig for years.... and its given me NO issues at all...
its all i'll use now... for my opinion the DH version "sealed" version isnt worth the xtra cost.... besides servicing the bearings is a stupid easy job any...u dont even have to remove the headset... u simply loosen fork, adn flush in new grease to displace the old... 5min job....done.... |

Yeah, I have the unsealed as well. It's hella easy to maintain and way cheaper if you need to replace the bearings in the future.

If you do not want to pony up the big bucks for a KING. get a pig pro. The bearings are good quality and last pretty well for $59.99.
by the way my king is over 10 years old so really only $20 a year. been in 10-15 frames and still kicks. |
